NVMHA raises $2,700 donation to Athletics4Kids in Welcome Back BBQ
Thanks to the generous support of our players, families, parent volunteers, and partner organizations, the North Vancouver Minor Hockey Association (NVMHA) has raised a $2,700 donation to Athletics4Kids as a result of the NVMHA Welcome Back BBQ.
The annual event was held on Saturday, September 23 in partnership with NVMHA, the North Vancouver Wolf Pack, Athletics4Kids, Save-on-Foods, and Neptune Terminals.
Once again, we want to recognize and thank: Save-on-Foods, who generously donated BBQ food items; Neptune Terminals, who matched all funds raised up to $1,000 benefitting Athletics4Kids; and the North Vancouver Wolf Pack, who donated 50% of ticket sales from their September 23 game against the Aldergrove Kodiaks.
100% of the funds raised during the event went directly to Athletics4Kids, supporting families across the province who need financial assistance keeping their kids in sports.
“We had a fantastic time opening the hockey season with our player families and community partners,” added Lawrence Smyth, NVMHA President. “Together, we connected over food, fun, and the North Vancouver Wolf Pack game to raise money for Athletics4Kids who have been a long-time beneficiary of NVMHA”s community fundraising efforts.”
“Our generous partners support these kinds of events so we can bring smiles to our players’ faces and celebrate the sport of hockey.”
Athletics4Kids is a BC-based charity that empowers youth to participate in organized sports by supporting families in need with financial assistance. In 2022, the organization helped children in 33 communities across the province, with a strategic focus in Surrey, Delta, and Coquitlam, where child poverty rates are high and access to sport is low.
